  Mark your calendar for the 2012 Annual Meeting of the Association of Centers for the Study of Congress which will be held on May 24-26 at the Richard B. Russell Library for Political Research and Studies at the University of Georgia at Athens, Georgia.  This year ACSC is holding several joint sessions and other events with the Congress and History Conference (CHC), an off-shoot of the American Political Science Association's Legislative Studies division which is also holding its annual meeting at the University of Georgia.  In addition to four joint sessions with the CHC, ACSC members are invited to a dinner for the two organizations at the home of Professor Keith Poole on the first evening of the conference.  The following evening, CHC participants are invited to the ACSC reception and dinner.  ACSC members will have the opportunity to discuss with CHC participants how to research Center holdings and what collections may be found at various Centers. In addition to the collaboration with CHC, ACSC members can anticipate an engaging keynote speaker, the opportunity to report on significant developments at the various centers, and the former members' panel.  A highlight of the conference is simply meeting at the new Russell Library and getting a special tour of the facilities on the first day of the conference.   A bloc of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn, 197 E. Broad Street, Athens, GA (telephone: 706-549-4433). The rate is $92 Deluxe or Executive doubles plus taxes. Please mention ACSC for this rate. The bloc will be held until May 3, 2012. The hotel has free parking for guests; it is in downtown Athens and just 2 blocks from the Richard B. Russell Building Special Collections Libraries at 300 S. Hull Street.

  If flying, please arrive at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson airport. Rent a car or reserve Groome Transportation airport shuttle service (1-800-896-9928 or 706-410-2363). Current Groome rate is $63 roundtrip Atlanta-Athens-Atlanta. Groome will deliver and pick up passengers at the Holiday Inn. Check the Groome service times for Athens before making air reservations in order to avoid long waits at the airport; we suggest that you do this by telephone rather than relying on their website.
