We invite you to join the Association of Centers for the Study of Congress (ACSC). The ACSC supports a wide range of programs designed to educate students, scholars, and policy makers on the history, legislative process and current issues facing Congress. It encourages the preservation of material that documents the work of Congress including the papers of representatives and senators; and supports programs that make those materials available for educational and research use.

Why join the ACSC? The ACSC welcomes the participation of institutions and individuals that share our goals of promoting a better understanding of the U.S. Congress.

The benefits of membership are described below:

  • Invitation to participate in annual meetings, special events, and workshops.
  • Access to information via the ACSC website.
  • Access to an independent network of experts on Congress, the legislative process, and archival research collections related to Congress and its members.

Organizational Members:  If your organization meets at least two of the following criteria, you may apply for membership:

  1. The organization has, as a primary mission, the study of Congress.
  2. The organization maintains and makes available the archives of a United States Representative or Senator.
  3. The organization pursues educational initiatives and public programs related to Congress.

In addition to a description of how your organization complies with two of the criteria above, your application should include the following elements: the organization's formal name and mission statement, the name of the person or persons representing your organization and their contact information, and the URL to your organization's Web site (if applicable).

Individual Members:  If you are interested in the  study of Congress as a student or as a member of one of the many professions that engage in congressional studies including political scientists, historians, archivists, journalists, former members of Congress, or current or former congressional staff, the ACSC welcomes your participation.

Dues: The ACSC accepts both institutional and individual members at the following rates:

Supporting Institutional Membership: $1,000 per year.

Regular Institutional Membership: $500.00 per year.

Individual Membership: $50 per year.

Annual Meeting Registration Fee:  $200. Supporting Institutional Membership includes free annual meeting registration for up to two persons. Regular Institutional Membership includes one free annual meeting registration.  Individual members who attend the annual meeting are required to pay the $200 registration fee.
